Before we give you that glow FAQ

What should I do before my session?

Phase 1: The Prep (24–48 Hours Before)

The quality of your tan depends 100% on the skin underneath it.

  1. Exfoliate: Use an exfoliating mitt or a non-oil-based scrub. Focus on "high-friction" areas like elbows, knees, heels, and knuckles.
  2. Hair Removal: Shave or wax at least 24 hours before your appointment. This allows your pores to close and prevents "speckling."
  3. The "Clean Canvas" Rule: On the day of your tan, do not apply:
  4. Lotion or body oils
  5. Deodorant (this can turn the tan green/patchy under the arms!)
  6. Perfume or Makeup
  7. What to Wear: Arrive in loose, dark, baggy clothing (think oversized tees and joggers) and flip-flops. Tight bras, leggings, or jeans will ruin the tan before it sets.

What about after my session?

Phase 2: The Development (Post-Appointment)

Be patient with the process. The "bronzer" you see now is just a color guide; your real tan is developing underneath.

  1. The First Rinse: * Standard Solution: Wait 8–12 hours.
  2. Rapid Solution: Wait 2–4 hours (your technician will give you a specific time).
  3. The "No Soap" Rule: Your first rinse should be lukewarm water only. No soap, no shampoo, and no loofahs. Rinse until the water runs clear.
  4. Dry Carefully: Pat your skin dry with a towel. Do not rub.

Wait for Glow: Your final color will fully manifest about 24 hours after your appointment.

How do I keep my Glow?

Phase 3: The Maintenance (Days 1–10)

Keep that Sjolie glow looking fresh for as long as possible.

  1. Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate: Starting the day after your first rinse, moisturize twice daily. Use an oil-free, sulfate-free moisturizer.
  2. Shower Smart: Avoid super hot water and harsh scrubbing. Use a gentle body wash and your hands instead of a washcloth.
  3. Pools & Tubs: Long hot baths, chlorine, and salt water will fade your tan faster. If you swim, rinse off with fresh water immediately after.

Face Care: Toners and products containing Retin-A, AHA, or salicylic acid will fade the tan on your face much quicker than your body.
